Frequently asked questions

Do I have to keep the same channel package I joined with?
AUSTAR's flexible contract terms allow you to change your package options one month after installation. Throughout your subscription term, AUSTAR also allows you to change your options without any penalty every month as long as you keep the Starter Pack, our base package.
How do I pay for my installation and monthly AUSTAR service?
To pay for your installation and AUSTAR service you will need to give us your bank account details (BSB and Account number) or credit card details when you order online. Diners Club and American Express cards are not accepted.
Is it safe to give my details over the Internet?
When you are joining AUSTAR online you will notice a yellow padlock icon in the bottom of your browser - this indicates that your connection is secure. AUSTAR uses strong 128-bit encryption technology to ensure that all transaction and personal information is protected.
How will AUSTAR use my personal details?
We appreciate that your privacy is important to you. AUSTAR will continue to protect the personal information you entrust to us. The information we collect from you is strictly confidential. AUSTAR will not disclose your personal information to any third parties, other than those who are contracted to us to keep the information confidential. Situations where contractors may be used include the installation and servicing of equipment and for mailing purposes. Please refer to our Privacy Statement for more information.
